Hamid Mohajer

Hamid Mohajer lost his short but courageous battle with cancer early Saturday morning, August 28.
He was born in Teharn, Iran on November 5, 1957.
He moved to the United States in 1976 to attend Campbell College. He especially like their soccer program. During his senior year, the Iranian Revolution began and he was no longer able to finish school. He began working on a tobacco farm to support himself instead of returning back home to Iran. Soon after, he moved to Raleigh to work as a bus boy at Darryls on Glenwood Ave and then as a cook where he would begin to make his lifetime friends in the restaurant community.

Hamid and Holly opened Mo's Diner in February of 1997. They have been blessed with wonderful customers and a terrific staff for the past 13 years.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Holly, her mother Betsy Viall, sister Karen Suberman and Rick and brother George Viall and Debbie.  Hamid is also survived by his mother Gity, sister Gelareh and brother Arash.

A visitation will be held at the home of George and Debbie Viall on Monday, August 30 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
